The Invincibles Sunshine Coast Gold Cup of Cups Champion - 2017

Jayden Dyal (Caboolture)

On what was the perfect summers day at Twin Waters on the Sunshine Coast, where our members, made the most of the perfect conditions to contest their final Invincibles Tour event for 2017, where their members, family and friends gathered together at Twin Waters Golf Club to see who was going to be their “Gold Cup of Cups Championship for 2017".

It's fair to say; that everyone was enormously impressed with the weather, but particularly in the way Twin Waters had their course set up to make the most of what was a fantastic day "it looked an absolute picture" probably in the best condition we’ve seen it.

The lakes were full, thanks to some much-needed rain over the weeks leading into the championship, we were treated to brilliant blue sky, a slight breeze and a course at its pristine best.

That along with a great group of kids that came to compete and dressed for the occasion, was a joy to be associated with.

As mentioned prior; The Twin Waters staff had their facilities set up magnificently to host the running of one of The Invincibles Major Championships, that was won by a very proud Jayden Dyal (Caboolture) who was thrilled to bits to have his name engraved into the perpetual Trophy, as was a very happy little sister (Mikayla) and one might add, a very proud mum and dad!!! (Chantelle & Steve)

It has always given our Invincibles members and their families a great feeling of excitement and anticipation when they gather together at major events and special functions to celebrate the performances and achievements of our juniors, and Sunday the 26th of November was just one of those days when everything came together.

A day that brought the best out of our juniors as they contested the Gold Cup of Cups Championship, and then gathered together at the beautifully presented Twin Waters Clubhouse to enjoy each others company at their Annual Junior Presentation Dinner (News Letter - Gallery to follow)

The decision to wind up the Tour by running both the Gold Cup and Dinner on the same day, gives us the opportunity to gather together to celebrate Christmas and our junior’s great performances, and given the feedback and support that we have received from our members, their families, and the golfing industry, has been very positive “particularly for a very happy Jayden Dyal above main photo, who took out the Gold Cup Championship for 2017 with an excellent 68 nett”

Some of the many highlights on the day, included: Cooper Clarke's birdie putt on 5, Liam Thomson, Emily Martin and Will Bowen's approaches to 5, Will Rothwell's brilliant chip in on 7 for birdie, Jordan Speare's approach to 7, Cassie Porters birdie putt on 14, Ethan Carlson's drive on 10 to within thirty meters on 10, Sophie Martell, Rebecca O'Neill's and Wilson Foster's putts on 13, Bailey Koch's incredible performance on 8, when he just got across the water with his drive, got relief for a plugged ball, put his second shot beside the green and the chipped in for birdie which was a brilliant result, but without doubt, the major highlight was in the way the Championship was played, the sportsmanship and friendships that were on display was truly a major highlight and these were just a few of the many, many highlights that were on display throughout the day.

We would like to make special mention and thank the competitors (and parents) who contested the Gold Cup of Cups Final and stayed back for the Dinner and Presentations to support their fellow team mates and friends on their special night.

Your actions displayed true sportsmanship, but most importantly you showed respect for the traditions and etiquette of the game, which is something we really do appreciate and thank you for.

We would also like to thank anyone who played any small part in the day for your support and encouragement; particularly our mobile scorers, spotters and marshals, because without that support Championships like our Course Cup, Gold Cup of Cups and many more of our major events just wouldn’t exist and that’s something I know our Invincibles members and their families appreciate and don’t take for granted, because we know, it truly is an honour and a privilege for our juniors to be able to contest Major Championships like ours on some of Australia’s finest golf courses.

Thanks to the competitors, caddies and galleries, our Gold Cup of Cups Championship was played in great spirit, which is something that The Invincibles Tour is renowned for. They not only dress incredibly, but they do all the little things to make sure everyone’s day on the course is an enjoyable one.

Once again; the 2017 Invincibles Sunshine Coast Gold Cup of Cups Championship was played in fantastic spirit where all contestants dressed to kill (as the photos would indicate) and came to play tough, but fair golf.

The committee of The Tour would like to take this opportunity to thank and congratulate everyone involved for helping make the day a great success.

The Invincibles Tour would also like to thank their sponsors and supporters for their unbelievable and overwhelming support of The Tour, because without that support we would be struggling to exist and it is important to us that you know we appreciate that support.

The Tour would like to extend a special thanks, to Frank Schmidt for his fantastic support, not only for our major events, but for all the hard work he does behind the scene to make sure The Tour runs smoothly.

Their support helps us enormously with the promotion and development of Junior Golf on the Sunshine Coast which is something we don’t take for granted and very much appreciate.....

We would also like to make special mention of The Invincibles Committee who do an excellent job behind the scenes to make sure The Tour runs well, in particular Joss Quirk, Frank Schmidt, and Neil Charkow. They give their time so willingly to help at events, behind the scenes or with The Invincibles website in the hope of making sure that your golfing experience is just that much more enjoyable.
