I think most would agree that a 12.00 pm start was a bit of a shock to the system, but given the turmoil the club went through leading into their Classic "it was more than understandable" losing their Pro Shop facilities and professional couldn't have been easy, but I believe the team at Redcliffe did a brilliant job and I'm sure it didn't stop everyone from having a great day out!!!


A special thanks to the Redcliffe team, in particular their office and bar staff, they did an excellent job looking after everyone's needs and made sure the day ran smoothly. Given the horrendous condition we’ve experienced over the past six months the course was in magical condition thanks to their course superintendant Peter James and his team.

Right from the start, the day was set up for something special. Kerry and her team did a brilliant job, even to the point of having milk drinks and refreshments “thanks to Charmlaw Milk” in place on the first tee for all competitors and caddies to enjoy as they ventured out on course.


I’d also like to make special mention of a few very generous Invincibles members in Frank Schmidt, Keith Stockill and Neil Charkow, just to name a few who give their time so willingly to help at events in the hope of making your golfing experience just that much more enjoyable.

These guys are there well before most get to the course and there long after everyone’s gone, so it’s important to me, that I take this opportunity to thank them and those that take the time to show respect for the game, the host clubs, the sponsors, volunteers and the winners on their special day by staying back to support others.


As I’ve said before, you send out a very powerful message that you care about others, golf, its traditions and the etiquette of the game!!! And for that I am enormously grateful, because it’s something you will carry with you long after our juniors are gone from the junior ranks and the example set in these situations is absolutely priceless?
