The Caboolture Junior Classic couldn’t have been played in better conditions “maybe a little hot for some” but the beautiful sea breeze, ice cold water & Water Melons, was just what the doctor ordered to take the edge off things, particularly for Sam Slater (Brisbane - pictured with Kerry Appleby - Sponsor) who had just come off a brilliant 5 under par win at the Titleist 2 Day Classic, to…..
Record his second sub-par (-1) Classic in five days, to win the Boys Division of the Caboolture 2 Day Junior Classic, after recording five birdies and a par over his final six holes (that included birdies on 6, 7, Par, and 9, 10 and 11) to finish with rounds of 72 – 69=141.
Keely Purdey (Virginia) won the Girls Division with rounds of 85, 77=162. Thanks to Caboolture Golf Club, their unbelievable team of volunteers and very generous sponsors in Kerry & Julie Appleby (Casskay Haulage Pty Ltd) who not only sponsored the Trophies, but also all the fruit, ice cold water, banana’s, hot dogs, coffee, cakes and just about anything one could imagine.

We keep saying that one of the great side benefits of The Invincibles Tour is the friendships, comradery, and sportsmanship that’s on display when our juniors and their families gather together at tour events which is fantastic to see and something we never take for granted.
Pictured below with their trophies (p2 & 3) is Keely Purdy (Virginia) and Sam Slater (Brisbane).
Kaylee Swann (Wantima) and Cooper Clarke (Noosa – P-1 above) qualified for The Invincibles 2018 IGA Sunshine Coast Junior Masters Championship, that will be hosted by the very generous and supportive Twin Waters, Peregian Golf Course, Pelican Waters, and Noosa Springs Golf & Spa Resort during the last week of the September School holidays (30th of September to the 3rd of October – 2018).
Zac Harrison (Riverlakes – p4 above) won The Invincibles Sunshine Coast Course Cup with his combined 135 nett, and by doing so, qualified for the Sunshine Coast Gold Cup of Cups Championship that will be hosted by Pelican Waters Golf Club, Sunday November 25 followed immediately by The Invincibles Annual Junior Presentation Dinner (all qualifiers are requested to make themselves available at the dinner).
Highlights on the day included: The spirit in which the championship was played, witnessing Olli Merritt produce his best ever round of golf, Hayden Summerfield and Bogdan Owen’s birdie’s on 17, Yevin Samararatne’s shot through the trees on 17, Dylan Buttigieg chip shot on 10, Justin Hammett birdies on 8, 9 and 10, Daniel Hendricks 60 foot putt for par on 5, Samuel Slaters approach from a hundred metres out on 4, to within a few centimetre’s for a tap in birdie, Kaleb Doolan’s approach to the first and Couper Smith’s drive, approach and bunker shot on the first were just brilliant for a young fellow that said he was struggling over his last few holes, and last but not least was Jasmine O’Hara (the world’s best ball spotter & flag holder, which were just a few of the many, many highlights during the day…….
A huge highlight over the past two championships, was witnessing our juniors stand their ground when they felt a score card wasn’t correct and made every effort to bring their concerns to the officials. We not only appreciate your input and feedback, but we are very proud of the way you handled the situation.
“We would like to think; that if you are not happy with the score that you’re playing partner has recorded on his card, please decline to sign it, and contact Frank or Graeme (or an official) as we believe with your support we will create a better environment for everyone to enjoy our golf!”
If you see or hear of anything special happening at one of our Invincibles events (or any event for that matter) please don’t just sit on them, forward them through to Graeme so we can all enjoy the moment?
The Invincibles Tour would like to thank Frank Schmidt and Neil Charkow for all the hard work and effort they put into scoring, stats, and our website to help make sure everyone is kept up to date with what’s happening on Tour, which is always very much appreciated.

From an Invincibles perspective: we know we speak for our members and their families, when we extend a special thanks and our appreciation to our sponsors and supporters (below) for the massive input and support they give to Junior Golf and The Invincibles Tour.
Their support helps us enormously with the promotion and development of Junior Golf on the Sunshine Coast which is something we don’t take for granted and very much appreciate.....
We would also like to make special mention of The Invincibles Committee who do an excellent job behind the scenes to make sure The Tour runs well, in particular Joss Quirk, Frank Schmidt, and Neil Charkow.
