It was a fantastic sight to see such a large group of contestants take to the fairways to take part in The Sunshine Coast & South Burnett Men’s and Ladies Golf Associations, Rod Pampling & Katherine Kirk Open and Closed Junior Championships, which was hosted by the beautifully presented Woodford Golf Club, who had their course and facilities in excellent condition to host some 94 of……….
Queensland’s finest junior golfers who took to the fairways to test themselves and their games at one of Queensland’s most prestigious golfing events, the Pampling – Kirk Classic, that saw Keely Purdey (Virginia) win the Girls Open in a nail bitting, sudden death play-off with Zoe Maxwell, also from Virginia, after paring the third play-off hole (10 -11 – 9) to claim the title.
Justice Bosio (Caboolture – pictured from with Keely Purdey, Tyler Duncan, Marge Pampling and Justice) won the Closed Title with round of 79.
Tyler Duncan (Redcliffe) won the Boys Open and Closed Championship Title from reigning Champion Bailey Arnott (Royal Queensland) after recording an even par score of 72.
It was fantastic to have Marge Pampling’s company representing Rod Pampling in his absence. Marge said she was thrilled to be involved and absolutely blown away with incredibly talented group of juniors that participated. They present themselves beautifully and are a credit to the game and
their families. Marge added. I’m sure Rod and Katherine Kirk would be enormously proud of how the kids have supported their Classic.
Marge went on to say that Rod was thrilled to add his name to the championship and asked her to pass on his best wishes and hoped that everyone has a great day.
