The Tour would like to congratulate Beerwah Golf Club for hosing yet another fantastic Junior Classic. Despite some pretty severe storms over night, it was great to wake up to clear blue skies and a perfect day for golf which made the short drive out to Beerwah an absolute pleasure. |

This year’s Ian Baker – Finch Junior Classic was their twentieth anniversary and I think most would agree that Beerwah really does do a great job in hosting this event. It would have to be one of the best run Junior Classics or Opens on the Sunshine Coast and I believe most enjoyed the day with some fantastic results being recorded. |

I, like most, believe it’s terrific to see the Ian Baker – Finch Junior Classic go from strength to strength as it’s always been a “Must Do Event” for all junior golfers as they set their Calendars at the start of each season. |

The weather for the day was just perfect and the course was in excellent condition thanks to the hard working team at Beerwah, led by John Mellish (Head Professional), Glen Watkins (Men’s Captain) Joan Harvey (Junior Co ordinator), along with their caterers, bar staff and ground staff who did a brilliant job preparing the course and hosting the day. |

As everyone is aware, The Invincibles Tour has long held a dream of setting in place a Junior Golfing Tour on the Sunshine Coast that encourages 100 plus competitors to participate at each and every junior classic or Open the Sunshine Coast hosts and we can’t see any valid reason why this can’t be achieved, “CAN YOU”. We believe the Sunshine Coast has the perfect environment, our courses are second to none, our climate is perfect and we have a committed group of volunteers to make sure we set in place a program that we can all be proud of and I believe, if we work together we’ll give ourselves every opportunity to succeed and achieve our goals.
So let’s take up the challenge? I would like to take this opportunity to thank both Frank Schmidt and Keith Stockill for their fantastic effort in keeping our stats and records up to date! Many thanks to Neil Charkow (website1000) for the brilliant job he does in keeping our website up to date so we all stay well informed with what’s happening on The Tour!!!
I would like to thank our committee members and their partners for focusing on what’s important and that is to raise the standards within junior golf on the Sunshine Coast so all our juniors get every opportunity to enjoy their golf and reach their full potential!!! The Tour would like to thank their sponsors and supporters for their support because without their support and trust we wouldn’t be able to achieve our goals!!! |
