Well, I know we keep saying it, “but where’s the year gone” It only seems like yesterday that we were at Noosa Springs celebrating Anna Stanton’s “hole in one” in horrendous conditions, to be back again this year “in excellent conditions” contesting The 2011 Invincibles IGA Sunshine Coast Junior Masters Championship and celebrating Jaimee Dougan's record breaking achievement.............................

Ladies - Noosa Spings Course Record Holder!!!

Jaimee Dougan (Beaudesert) brought the house down by playing the round of her life, an absolutely brilliant seven under par 65 / 65nett and in the process blitzed "Katherine Hull’s" Noosa Springs course record and her own best performance by a massive four shots.

These four men and their organisations have been enormously generous with their time and facilities. The fantastic encouragement and support they’ve forwarded me and The Invincibles Tour over the years has been absolutely incredible and it’s really quite obvious that championships like our IGA / Invincibles Sunshine Coast Junior Masters Championship and others don’t just happen by accident.

They happen, because people like these four very generous men care enough to make sure they happen, because they like all of us would like to see The Invincibles Tour grow and the game of golf flourish, in particular junior golf and that’s something I’d like to think none of us take for granted because if it wasn’t for these very generous men, their organisations and others like them, our Tour wouldn’t exist!

The Tour and their committee would like to thank our host clubs, their course superintendants and their teams, their Pro shop staff, bar staff and their caterers for their fantsatic input. We couldn’t have asked for anymore of the four days of competition, the weather was absolutely perfect for golf, the courses were in immaculate condition and an absolute thrill for our lucky qualifiers to test their games on four of Australia most pristine and challenging golf courses!

We were thrilled to bits to have the company of Rae & Doug Clarke (Greg Norman Junior Golf Foundation) during the second leg of our Masters Championship at Peregian Springs. Their company gave The Invincibles Tour the perfect opportunity to present both Rae & Dough with a few gifts that were raised via auctions (10 kilo block of Cadbury chocolate, Nobbys Outlook Apartments and a package at Noosa Springs Resort) to try and help both Rae and Dough through the enormously tough times they have endured because of the horrendous floods back in January!

The Invincibles Tour would like to thank everyone that supported our fund raiser by way of makings bids, offering product or donations, your support epitomises what The Invincibles Tour is all about.

Rae and Doug have asked me to pass on their deepest thanks and appreciation and were blown away with the generosity and kindness of our Invincibles members and people on the Sunshine Coast!

I believe it’s fair to say that The Invincibles Tour and it’s events, such as The Sunshine Coast Junior Masters, The Hyatt Regency Coolum Course Cup and Gold Cup of Cups, The Invincibles Match – Play Championships and their Inter – Club Team Shield play an integral part in the landscape of junior golf on the Sunshine Coast and that’s largely due to our supporters and everyone pulling together as a team in the name of junior golf! This is extremely pleasing to see and enormously satisfying to me and everyone involved!!!

So on behalf of The Invincibles Tour, their juniors and their families, I would like to extend our thanks and appreciation to everyone that participated over the four days of our Junior Masters Championship for your very generous support, encouragement and feedback, it’s very much appreciated and the very essence that’s going to enable us to take The Invincibles Sunshine Coast Junior Golfing Tour to the next level!!!

I personally would like to extend a huge thanks to Keith Stockill and Perry Preston who worked tirelessly with scoring, marshalling or in any way they could to make sure our Junior Masters was a great success.

Many thanks to Neil Charkow (website1000) who has been working tirelessly behind the scenes to bring our website up to date so we can stay well informed with what is happening on Tour “Your Tour”.

I would also like pass on my deepest thanks and appreciation to Brian Wrice for his computer skills and support as well as Marshan Miller, Marie Pickles, Natalie Preston, Aneka Park, Danika Coyne and to our mobile scorers who did a brilliant job making sure everyone had peace of mind when it came to results and to anyone that played any small part in making sure our 2011 IGA Sunshine Coast Junior Masters ran smoothly, we thank you!!!

I think most would agree, The 2011 Invincibles IGA Masters Championship was an absolutely brilliant success (thanks to four days of absolutely brilliant weather) and I would like to take this opportunity to thank the competitors themselves for working hard and doing such an excellent job, we couldn’t have asked for much more. They collectively worked hard on the pace of play and generally speaking their attitude and all round course management was excellent.

I find our junior golfers a pleasure to be associated with and The Tour would like to thank you all for striving to play your part in making sure your Junior Championship was a great success.

The Invincibles Committee would like to thank everyone that took part, including the caddies, parents, families and galleries for helping make the 2011 Invincibles IGA Sunshine Coast Junior masters Championship the overwhelming success it was and we look forward to making it an even greater success next year!

The Tour would like to extend their thanks and appreciation to IGA for the tremendous support they give to junior golf, along with Wesite1000, Queensland Sport and Rec, Cadbury, Channel 7, the Sunshine Coast Daily, Schweppes, Balkins Men’s Wear, Coastal Monogramming, Hip Pocket Workwear & Safety and to all our supporters and sponsors for helping us promote and develop the game of golf to all juniors wishing to enjoy their golf on the Sunshine Coast .

One of the great positives that’s come out of 2011 in my mind, is the willingness of all parties to work together as a team (Golf Queensland, PGA Australia, Greg Norman Junior Golf Foundation and The Invincibles Tour) and that should fill all golfers “both junior and senior” with an enormous amount of confidence in knowing that everyone's energy is focused on a mutural goal and that's to promote and develop junior golf into the future with the aim of leaving a legacy for our juniors and future generations!

Many thanks for those that took the time to read the conditions of play and came to play accordingly. The reason our conditions of play are so strict, is out of respect for our host clubs, our sponsors, and our juniors and because we want our juniors to experience the same experiences that the International Tour Professional experience, which includes, dress code, pace of play, media commitments and sponsors commitments to name a few that are required of “Tour Professionals” when on tour as we feel that this is as close as you’re going to get without experiencing the real thing!!!<

The Invincibles committee would like to believe our juniors present themselves brilliantly at junior events " particularly at our IGA Sunshine Coast Junior Masters" as the photos would indicate and we would like to think, that when the time comes in the future, it would be an easy transition from The Invincibles Tour to the world stage?
