On an absolutely perfect day for golf and on a course (Tewantin Noosa) that was set up magnificently to host the playoffs of the Sunshine Coast Zone Junior Boys Pennants season where the junior squad from Headland fought hard to finally overcome the very determined team from Peregian Springs 3/2, where the big hitting Steven Cox def Christian Butterworth 6/4, Ryley Martin had to work overtime to finally overcome Copper Eccleston on the 20th hole..............
In this day and age one could be forgiven for being a little syndical or a little negative when it comes to our community and the society we live in, but the more one mixes with our junior golfers and their families on The Invincibles Tour, the more one appreciates just how caring and generous our members are and how refreshing it is to see some of our more experienced senior members take the time and care enough about the game and our newer members to go out of their way.....................
The past six weeks has seen four of our Invincibles members raise the bar by putting in some incredible performances “better than your best performances” which included Zac Walters (Kingaroy - pictured) who recorded a 79 / 66 nett at the Ken Layton Memorial Junior Classic which was hosted by Toowoomba City Golf Club in incredibly cold and windy conditions..........
Golf Australia and the PGA of Australia have signed an historic joint venture agreement that will boost the landscape of junior golf development in Australia. Under the agreement, the PGA and Golf Australia will govern a single junior development program, MyGolf – as the one nationally recognised junior golf program that will act as the main driver of junior participation in Australia.
