In very trying conditions (7th – 9th January), the boy from Kingaroy Shae Wools – Cobb (Horton Park) continued his brilliant form to win the Hills Australian Junior Open Championship (Brookwater) from Naoki Sekito (Japan) by two shots with the girls division being won by Meng Lin (China). Heading into the final round leading by one shot, Wools – Cobb knew he had a tough job ahead and realized that if he was going to take out the championship he had to focus and keep his mind on the job……….
On a sunny but very windy (Sunday - December 1) the representative team from Horton Park Golf Club, which included Darcy Siddle, Rory Turner, Will Sutherland and Jesse Price – Connolly (pictured holding the trophy) combined brilliantly to win the Inaugural Palmer Coolum Resort “JUNIOR TEAMS CHALLENGE” with 100 stableford points.
Thanks to the enormous generosity of Tourism and Events Queensland, who invited The Invincibles Tour to enter a team (pictured left) into the 2013 Australian PGA Pro – Am, which was hosted by RACV Royal Pines Resort where three of our very privileged Invincibles members in Shae Wools-Cobb (Horton Park), Samantha Foley (Royal Pines) and Zac Quirk (Mount Coolum) paired up and performed brilliantly with professional Akinori Tani (Japan) to record rounds of - 6, - 1, -1 and – 5 respectively.
Samantha Foley (Royal Pines) and Karis Davidson (Sanctuary Cove) pictured left, put in brilliant performances over the 19th, 20th and 21st of October to win both the Adam Scott Junior Classic (Pines Course, Sanctuary Cove) and the Aaron Baddeley International which was hosted by the Heritage Golf Club located in the Yarra Valley, 45 minutes East of Melbourne.
On an absolutely majestic golf Course (Noosa Springs) in absolutely perfect conditions and to the delight of the large galleries that followed. Defending Champion Kodie Koski (Caloundra) 72 – 78 – 81 – 72 = 303 along with Zac Quirk (Mount Coolum) 77 – 76 – 78 – 77 = 303 and Matthew Samen – Curtis (Headland) 71 – 84 – 74 – 74 = 303 put in brilliant performances to take the boys division of The Invincibles IGA Sunshine Coast Junior Masters Championship into extra time via a three way sudden death play – off……………..
