The Invincibles Sunshine Coast Junior Golfing Tour would like to thank Noosa Springs Golf Club, in particular Mark Brady (Golf Operations Supervisor), Warren Ellis and his team in the Pro Shop, their bar staff, caterers and ground staff for their unbelievably generous support of junior golf. As always, their course was in immaculate condition and an absolute thrill for everyone to test their game on.
The day started out perfect for golf, got a little windy through the middle stages and finished with a little drizzle over the last few holes, but all in all, I’m sure everyone had a brilliant time and took full advantage of the opportunity to play on one of the coasts most challenging and awe inspiring golf courses.
The new renovations to the eighteenth tee box and surrounds (pictured above) have given the new layout a fantastic look and just adds to what is already a remarkable golf course!

To me the day was an absolute pleasure and an a great challenge to everyone’s game, particularly for those that have qualified for The Invincibles IGA Sunshine Coast Junior Masters Championship with the third round of the event being hosted by the Noosa Springs Golf Club on Monday the 20th of September. (Tee off 9.45am). The Tour would like to congratulate Matthew Samen – Curtis (Caloundra) and Hollie Sinclair (Beerwah) for qualifying for the Sunshine Coast Junior Masters Championship.

 |
| Karl Preston |
Congratulations also to Karl Preston (Horton Park) for winning the Lend Lease Course Cup and in the process qualified for the Hyatt Regency Coolum Gold Cup of Cups Championship in December with his best ever score of 67 nett.
Pacific Harbour took out the four points in The Invincibles Inter – Club Team shield, Peregian Springs came in second with two points and Caloundra gained one point for third which makes the Inter-Club Team Shield a very close race in dead with only three points separating the top four sides!!!!
Below and above are some of the views overlooking the majestic Noosa Springs Golf Course and Resort. If you haven’t visited Noosa Springs then you are missing out on something very special because it truly is one of our great courses. If you have friends visiting the Sunshine Coast and would like to treat them and yourself to something special, you can’t go past Noosa Springs Resort for a great day out, whether it be for lunch, the day spa or a round of golf, I’m sure you wouldn’t be disappointed.
I must say that I and The Tour appreciates the support and interest that all clubs show in The Tour and I take that support as a very important endorsement of what we are trying to achieve within junior golf here on the Sunshine Coast. There’s absolutely no doubt in my mind that men like Mark Brady and organizations like Noosa Springs appreciate our program because of the standards we set and for what The Tour is trying to achieve within junior golf, another major reason they are prepared to support The Tour is because they believe in you our juniors and just as importantly your Junior Development Program.
It was also great to see some of the mums (Marie, Natalie, Michelle and Marshan) take full advantage of a perfect opportunity to re-visit (annual event) the Day Spa and the Noosa Springs restaurant, they had a ball and the best of both worlds, one, they got to relax in the spa and enjoy a glass of wine with a great meal whilst overlooking the beautiful Noosa Springs Golf Course, secondly if they wished, go for a walk out on the course (once again, I don’t know if they got that far) to see how their golfing champions were going.
I would like to pass on my thanks and appreciation to all our members and guests for enrolling for this event in record time, “Booked out twelve days in advance” which is an absolutely brilliant effort. I would also like to thank those parents out there that support their children by getting them to and from events and helping out where ever possible on Tour. In particular I would like to pass on my thanks and appreciation to Frank Schmidt, Neil Charkow, Keith Stockill, Natalie Preston, Perry Preston, Mandy Johnson and Marie Pickles for the enormous amount of hard work and effort they put in behind the scenes with Web hosting, scoring, photography, keeping records and stats to make sure your golfing experiences are enjoyable ones.

RODNEY PAMPLING JUNIOR CLASSIC
SUNSHINE COAST & SOUTH BURNETT DISTRICT GOLF ASSOCIATION’S OPEN AND CLOSED JUNIOR CHAMPIONSHIP
The Tour would like to congratulation both Jimmy Chung and Annie Choi (Parkwood) for their excellent performances in winning the 2010 Rodney Pampling Junior Classic Championship. Congratulations also to Wade Stockill (Horton Park) for continuing his brilliant form of late by winning the closed section of the event.
It’s fantastic to see golf clubs on the Sunshine Coast getting behind juniors, Horton Park is one club that does an enormous amount to promote and develop the game at a junior level. Their office staff, bar staff and caterers have a fantastic reputation for doing everything in their power to make sure juniors enjoy their golf and develop in a safe environment.
A special thanks to their ground staff for the great job they did in preparing the course. It was in excellent condition and I’m sure everyone took full advantage to enjoy a great days golf and to catch up with their friends on Tour.
I know that Jim Dalrymple (President - District) and his committee were thrilled to bits with the number of juniors that came to play, but more importantly the quality of players, both boys and girls that took to the fairways to challenge themselves and test their games against some of the best junior golfers in South East Queensland.
From an Invincibles Tour point of view, it doesn’t surprise me or our members that the fields are becoming as large as they are (140 plus). It’s simply because our juniors and their parents are once again starting to take their golf seriously and get involved by supporting The Tour, their Tour, that’s what’s making an enormous difference. There’s no doubt in my mind that we are starting to see the rewards and benefit’s that come from a certain amount of hard work and effort and this sort of turnout justifies that effort. As we can see from the results this starting to happen right across the Sunshine Coast!!!!
As Tour members, I believe you should give your selves a pat on the back. It’s your tour and I believe that you’re all starting to understand that the more we commit, the more we put in, the greater the rewards and the better the results at the end of the day and the more support we will receive from Golf Australia, Golf Queensland, The Greg Norman Foundation, Golf Clubs along with the relevant organizations and associations on the Sunshine Coast.
To be involved in and witness the largest turnout to ever grace the fairways of this championship was fantastic, it sends out a very strong and positive sign of things to come. For those that missed out "and there were a few of you" then take this as a warning. If you love your golf and don’t book in early, there's a very real chance and strong possibility that you will miss out all together in taking your place in the field!
A special thanks to the team at Drummond Golf (Roy and Terry) for their fantastic support. The support they have given to me personally and The Tour has been unbelievable and I know everyone involved appreciates their input!
Jimmy Chung (left) and Hayelim Wi (centre) both qualified for The Invincibles Sunshine Coast Junior Masters Championship which will be contested at Pelican Waters, Twin Waters, Noosa Springs and Peregian Springs in the September school holidays. Daniel Stewart (Horton Park) (right) qualified for The Invincibles Hyatt Regency Coolum Gold Cup of Cups Championship to be contested Sunday December 5 at the Hyatt Coolum, the Sunday prior to the Australian PGA Championship.
Congratulations to the Zone and District for once again taking the initiative by inviting girls and nine hole players to compete in their event. From The Tours point of view it's a brilliant innovation and a positive sign for the future of our junior's to see Golf Queensland, their Zone and District, the Greg Norman Foundation and The Invincibles Tour all working together for the sake of junior golf. It's a massive boost to all junior golfers and a positive step in the right direction for everyone concerned!
I would like to make special mention and applaud everyone for working on pace of play, the etiquette of the game and for staying back wherever possible for presentation. To have the clubhouse full at presentation was fantastic and something that is happening more and more in junior golf “I must say that our juniors are teaching the adults a thing or two in this department”, it gives everyone a boost and sends the strongest possible message to everyone involved that we are serious about our juniors and care about them and their performances.
By staying back and supporting our juniors whenever and wherever possible teachers everyone the appropriate golf etiquette and people skills associated with the game and how to represent their Sponsors, Clubs, families and friends at presentation whilst supporting others on their special day.
Thanks to Frank Schmidt and Keith Stockill for all the hard work and effort they put in to keeping our stats and records up to date and to Neil Charkow for the fantastic job he does in keeping our - your website up to date!
I would like to thank Mel Robinson (Head Professional) for generously giving me the use of the cart for the day, it was very much appreciated and helped make my job that much easier!

Firstly; The Tour would like to thank and congratulate Mount Coolum Golf Club and their members for allowing the juniors the use of their course for the day and for doing a fantastic job with their Junior Open. I would like to welcome Stephen Jenkins (Head Professional) and his team to the Sunshine Coast, I would also like to thank Stephen for the use of a motorized cart for the day which enabled me to get out on course to take photos and help marshal the field.

Karis Davidson (Parkwood) |
Congratulations to Jack Marriott (Horton Park) and Karis Davidson (Parkwood), pictured above for qualifying to take their place in the field of The Invincibles IGA Sunshine Coast Junior Masters Championship which will be hosted by Pelican Waters, Twin Waters, Noosa Springs and Peregian Springs on the 17th 19th 20th and 21st of September.

 |
| Michael Young (Kingaroy) |
Congratulations must also go to Michael Young (Kingaroy) for winning the Course Cup with a nett score of 69 which qualifies him to take his place in the field of The Invincibles / Hyatt Regency Coolum Gold Cup of Cups Championship which will be hosted by the Hyatt Coolum on the Sunday prior to the Australian PGA Championship in December.
I think most would agree that the morning started out with weather that was better suited to ducks and wildlife than golf, but I must say, it was an incredible sight to see the majestic Mount Coolum covered in a shroud of fog which created an eerie atmosphere across the course and I believe added to the day.
Given that it’s the first wet day we’ve experienced so far this year, I think most enjoyed their golf and had a ball, despite a little drizzle, I think most came to test their game to test their game and make the most of a great Junior Open. Given the overnight rain, the course was in excellent condition, the greens were in super condition which gave most a great challenge and I’m sure that along with catching up with friends is a great reason in itself to head out on tour, The Invincibles Tour!!!
I’m sure most would agree that the shot gun start is a fantastic concept and is working a treat, it helps with the pace of play and just as importantly it gets everyone back into the clubhouse in reasonable time to enjoy each other’s company around the sausage sizzle and at presentation without causing any unnecessary delays or hassles, which most, if not all involved believe is a good thing.
The Tour would like to thank and congratulate everyone, all Tour members for making a conscious effort with the pace of play. Collectively we are making a difference and we do appreciate the concerted effort everyone is making to improve the standards on tour and I’m sure we're all starting to see and enjoy the benefits, benefits that come from well run and well organized events which is something that can’t be done without your support.
To their curator and his team, “well done” the course was in magnificent condition and I’m sure everyone enjoyed the challenge and made the most of a great day out!!!
From an Invincibles point of view, I would like to thank Frank Schmidt and Keith Stockill for the hard work and effort that they put into making sure the day went well. A special thanks to Neil Charkow (WEBSITE 1000) for the incredible amount of hard work, effort and sleepless nights that he puts in behind the scenes to make sure your all kept up to date and well informed with what’s unfolding on Tour, their effort along with that of Perry and Natalie Preston is very much appreciated and a major reason why the Tour works so well. A special thanks to Marie Pickles for the fantastic job she does in taking photo’s at presentation, again it’s very much appreciated and just another reason why The Tour is gaining an excellent reputation within junior golf.
There’s no doubt that when you get fields of 100 plus ”which is happening more often than not these days” with Mount Coolum recording their highest ever number of competitors (120) plus is just fantastic and creates a great atmosphere and excellent competition for all juniors, that’s the way Junior Classics and Opens should be and that’s one of the main reasons The Invincibles Tour evolved and what The Tour is all about.
I never end to be amazed with the great depth of talent that is coming up through the ranks of junior golf here on the Sunshine Coast. To win an event these days, you really have to be on your game and I find it enormously exciting to witnessing some of our juniors unbelievable performances.
The Tour would like to pass on their thanks and appreciation to those parents that take the time to get their kids to and from events and for helping out wherever possible, “even if it’s just morale support at presentation” it all helps build a strong and healthy Junior Development Program and a safe environment for our (your) juniors to perform in.
The four points for The Invincibles Inter – Club Team Shield went to Pacific Harbour (218) with Horton Park second (227 - 2 points) and Peregian Springs come in third (230) with one point.
