This month’s winner of the Drummond Golf Achiever of the Month Award is……

Matthew Samen – Curtis (Headland) who is playing some incredible golf of late! Samen – Curtis’s brilliant run started with a 67 (five under) around Pelican Waters "off the  black marks” to win their monthly medal, which of course, has no bearing on Drummonds Achiever Award for April but it did set him up  for a great run of golf!

Samen – Curtis continued his brilliant form throughout April by winning Div – 1 of the Pelican Waters 2 Day Junior Classic with a combined score of 73 - 72 = 145 and followed that up with an even better performance by being runner – up in Div – 1 (0-4) at Headland in the Sunshine Coast Men's Open Amateur Championship (Easter Saturday – Sunday 7th and 8th April). Won the Junior Title, was awarded the best 36 hole nett Champion and produced the round of the Championship with a brilliant “69 - 3 under par’.

Matthew then turned his attention to helping Headland win “A Grade” in the finals of the 2012 Sunshine Coast Zone Pennants Championship ( Mount Coolum) with a 4 – 3 win over Tewantin Noosa which the Committee believes makes Matthew Samen – Curtis a very worthy winner of Drummond Golf Achiever of the Month Award for April!
